Five people, including three children, sustained serious injuries after unidentified individuals hurled explosive material at a house in the Akbarpura Akhwan Panji area of Baba Mohallah, Nowshera.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel report on Sunday, the targeted house belongs to a man named Umar. The nature and motive of the attack remain unknown.
The victims have been identified as 40-year-old Sardar, 25-year-old Mohammad Umar, 10-year-old Abu Bakr, 5-year-old Muawia, and 6-year-old Samia.
Following the explosion, a Rescue 1122 team promptly reached the scene and transported all the injured individuals to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar for urgent medical treatment. The condition of the victims is reported to be critical.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Department of Home and Tribal Affairs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has enforced Section 144 in the Bannu district.
The restriction will remain in effect from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM starting September 7, 2025.
Under Section 144, all civilian movement is restricted along Zal Road, from Said Gee to Miran Shah, Ghulam Khan Azad, and Mandi Road Bakka Khel, including all bazaars within these areas. Vehicular traffic has also been suspended.
Local authorities have urged the public to comply with the orders, warning that any violation will result in strict action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
