Former Tamasha contestant and actor Saqib Sumeer has sparked a conversation online after openly criticizing veteran actor and Tamasha contestant Babrik Shah, claiming that the actor’s excessive self praise and perceived ego can become off putting.
During a recent podcast appearance, Saqib shared his candid views about Babrik Shah, suggesting that the veteran actor sometimes appears caught between trying to project himself as a good or bad personality.
“I think he is confused about whether he wants to be seen as good or bad. I have one small disagreement with him: for me, his ‘mein khatam hi nahi hoti’ attitude is the problem,” Saqib remarked.
Saqib went on to question Babrik’s repeated references to his decades of experience in the entertainment industry. He said that if someone is as experienced and senior as they claim to be, there is no need to repeatedly highlight their own achievements.
The former reality show contestant further argued that younger artists may have less experience, but that does not mean they cannot offer an opinion or point out something to a senior colleague.
According to Saqib, Babrik frequently talks about his own films and career achievements, leaving little room for others to acknowledge them themselves.
“If praise is deserved, people will praise you,” Saqib suggested, emphasizing that recognition carries more weight when it comes from others rather than being repeatedly claimed by the individual.
Saqib’s comments appeared to center on what he perceives as Babrik Shah’s strong ego and tendency to position himself and his work above others. He suggested that the veteran actor could benefit from toning down the self-promotion and allowing his career and accomplishments to speak for themselves.
