Punjab releases Rs4.09b non-salary budget for schools in 36 districts

The Punjab School Education Department has released a non-salary budget of more than Rs4.08 billion for primary, elementary and higher secondary schools across 36 districts for the financial year 2026-27.

According to details, a total of Rs4.08875 billion has been allocated to meet non-salary expenditures of government schools.

The funds will be made available through the main branches of the National Bank of Pakistan in the respective districts and will be disbursed through cheques according to the prescribed schedule.

Among the district-wise allocations, Lahore schools will receive Rs161.78 million, while Rs225.97 million has been allocated for Faisalabad and Rs142.08 million for Rawalpindi.

Gujranwala schools have been allocated Rs129.16 million, while Sialkot will receive Rs138.01 million.

The department has allocated Rs167.128 million for schools in Bahawalnagar and Rs144.08 million for Bahawalpur.

The released funds are earmarked for approved non-salary expenditures at schools and will be utilised during the 2026-27 financial year.
