The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has increased electricity prices by Rs1.42 per unit under the monthly fuel cost adjustment for February 2026, according to an official notification issued on Wednesday.

The hike will be applicable to electricity consumers across the country, including Karachi, and will be reflected in April electricity bills.

According to the notification, the increase has been made in line with fuel adjustment charges and government policy guidelines. However, the revised tariff will not apply to lifeline consumers and electric vehicle charging stations.

Nepra had reserved its decision after conducting a hearing on the February adjustment before announcing the revised rates.

The latest increase follows a previous hike of Rs1.63 per unit in the January adjustment, further adding to the cost burden on consumers.
