A meeting held on April 7 at the office of the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) reviewed the progress and future direction of ongoing conservation initiatives in Lahore.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Aga Khan Cultural Service - Pakistan (AKCS-P) Board of Directors Akbar Ali Pesnani, AKCS-P Chief Executive Officer Khawaja Tausif Ahmad, and WCLA Director General Najam us Saqib.
Discussions focused on the progress, opportunities, and challenges related to key heritage conservation projects being jointly undertaken by WCLA and AKCS-P. Prominent sites under review included the Lahore Fort, Wazir Khan Mosque, and Akbari Mandi.
Participants also explored strategies to further strengthen conservation efforts, with an emphasis on safeguarding Lahore’s cultural heritage while promoting sustainable development and community engagement.
