Pakistan Idol is finally making its much-awaited return, with superstar Atif Aslam joining the Sooper Finale as the special “Sooper Icon.”
After months of delays, the singing competition has announced that its finale will air on August 23, giving fans a chance to see the season reach its long-awaited conclusion.
Atif announced his involvement on social media and invited viewers to tune in on August 23, saying the time had finally come for everyone to come together and choose Pakistan’s next big superstar. His addition has brought even more excitement to the show's return.
The second season of Pakistan Idol had already attracted considerable attention, bringing together some of the country’s well-known names from music and entertainment. Fawad Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Bilal Maqsood and Zeb Bangash were part of the judging panel, while Shafaat Ali hosted the competition.
However, the show came to an abrupt pause in March when organizers announced that the remaining episodes and finale would be postponed. The announcement cited regional tensions and calls for austerity, saying the finale should take place when the country was in a better position to celebrate.
The unexpected halt also raised questions about the show's production. Around the same time, photographer Muhammad Ahsan Qureshy filed a legal case against the production company over alleged unpaid professional dues, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the show.
After months of waiting, Pakistan Idol has now resumed preparations for its finale. Judge Zeb Bangash recently shared BTS clip from the set, giving fans a glimpse of the team preparing for the show's return.
The comeback has sparked reactions among viewers. With Atif Aslam now confirmed for the Sooper Finale, attention is firmly on how Pakistan Idol will bring its latest season to an end.
