The local administration of Kohat will hold talks on Sunday with representatives of different groups for holding a peace jirga in Khurram, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud said that a grand jirga will be held tomorrow in Kohat with the assistance of district administration.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that all representatives belonging to different groups agreed on a complete ceasefire.
Javedullah Mehsud said that talks are going on with representatives of the Pushtun National Jirga hailing from Balochistan and Khyber Pukhtonkhwa provinces.
Mufti Kifayatullah, who is a member of the jirga, said that the first phase of the Pashtun National Peace Jirga was completed successfully, but all roads from the National Highway remained closed despite the complete ceasefire.
He said that due to the closing of roads, residents of the area fear a shortage of medicines and other edible items.
A social worker, Mir Afzal Khan, said that children were unable to attend school due to a shortage of petrol, while banking and educational sectors were facing problems due to the continuous disruption of internet and mobile services.
