Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Monday that the upcoming Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ministerial Conference being hosted by Pakistan in 2026 reflected its commitment to advancing women’s issues within the OIC framework and beyond.
Dar chaired a meeting to review preparations for the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, the Foreign Office spokesperson said in a press release. He also highlighted Pakistan’s proactive role in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The meeting was attended by the ministers for law and justice, IT and telecom; SAPM Tariq Bajwa; Foreign Affairs Secretary Amna Baloch, secretaries of Cabinet Division, Religious Affairs, Human Rights; Pakistan’s PR to OIC; and senior officials from Ministries of Foreign Affairs & other concerned departments.
Dar underscored the importance of successfully organizing the conference through close coordination with the OIC Secretariat and relevant ministries.
