Mohsin opens upgraded facilities in General and Sir Ganga Ram Hospitals

In a significant milestone for Punjab's healthcare system, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Wednesday inaugurated a series of upgraded facilities at General Hospital and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


Chief Minister Naqvi unveiled the upgraded emergency block, modern modular operation theater, and old surgical block at General Hospital, along with the upgraded C Block and Medical Ward at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.


The enhancement covers an expansive area of 140,000 square feet of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, signifying a substantial advancement in healthcare infrastructure.


Chief Minister Mohsin inspected the modern modular operation theater unit of main General Hospital. Six state of the art operation theaters have been constructed in the unit.


Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also reviewed the upgradation of old block and appreciated the high quality of the work.  


Expressing appreciation for Provincial Minister Amir Mir's leadership in overseeing the upgradation works, the CM Naqvi commended the completion of the projects with high standards, transforming both hospitals into state-of-the-art medical facilities and increasing bed capacity to accommodate more patients.


Under the dedicated efforts of Amir Mir and the provincial department, General Hospital witnessed a notable increase in its emergency block capacity by 30 beds, along with the installation of modern modular operation theaters.


Additionally, the old block of General Hospital, originally constructed in 1960, underwent a comprehensive upgrade after 64 years, reflecting a commitment to modernization and efficiency.


 During his visit, Chief Minister Naqvi inspected various facilities, including the reception counter, operation theaters, private rooms, and the hospital's lawn.


He issued directives for the arrangement of amenities in private rooms, the relocation of the cafeteria, and the establishment of a dedicated counter for nurses.


Secretary Health Ali Jan provided a detailed briefing on the both hospitals upgradation on the occasion.


Chief Minister Naqvi praised the collective effort of the entire team involved in the projects, highlighting unity and dedication as driving forces behind the successful completion of the initiatives in a record time.


The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent officials including Provincial Ministers Dr. Javed Akram and Amir Mir, Chairman Planning and Development Board, Secretaries of Health, Building and Communications, Commissioner Lahore, and senior medical professionals from General and Ganga Ram Hospitals.
