Sardar Sarfaraz, the chief meteorologist, who issued several warnings for heatwaves and monsoon rains in the country, retired on Saturday after serving for 34 years, eight months and 10 days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sarfaraz, who had joined the Pakistan Meteorological Department on May 31, 1996, served as a chief meteorologist from 2019 to 2025.
Sarfaraz was born at Sajjikot, Abbottabad on February 10, 1965.
He earned his MPhil and master's degrees in physics from the UK.
He also did a PhD on Pakistan’s climate in 2021.
