Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman expressing disappointment over the loss has said missing out on a century is not a major concern, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
While addressing a press conference following the national team’s defeat in the tri-nation series match against New Zealand at Gaddafi Stadium, he said, "I feel sad about the defeat, but not about missing a hundred.” He expressed his hope that the national team would come back in the next matches.
To a question, he said, “The love and support he received upon his return to the team mean a lot to him, and he is truly grateful."
Speaking about the match dynamics, he credited New Zealand captain Kane Williamson for leading his team strategically. "Williamson handled the game well, and that ultimately benefited his team."
On Babar Azam’s form, Fakhar expressed full confidence in the star batter. "Babar has a class of his own. You will see him perform."
Despite the loss, Fakhar maintained a positive outlook, enjoying the atmosphere at Gaddafi Stadium. "Watching the match from the dressing room was a great experience," he added.
Fakhar also shared his excitement about Pakistan's upcoming campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy but emphasized that the team’s current focus remains on the ongoing series.
