A Peshawar-based gang has been caught robbing match-goers in Lahore, said a spokesperson for police on Saturday.
The Gulberg police acted on an emergency helpline call and arrested four robbers who did recce of match spectators in Lahore and robe them of their valuables like mobile phones and cash, the official added.
Seven mobile phones, more than Rs 200,000 and other valuables were also recovered
The arrested are identified as Shiraz, Tauseef, Noor and Ali Raza, the police spokesperson said, adding that they belonged to Peshawar and took a house on rent in Lahore to commit the crime.
Model Town SP Akhlaqullah Tarar praised the raiding team and reiterated the police resolve to provide the people with protection.
