The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is in deep water as Haroon Malik, chairman of the PFF normalization committee, has resigned from his position, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Reports suggested that FIFA compelled Malik to step down due to his inability to effectively manage the federation’s affairs.

According to sources, Haroon Malik struggled to secure the confidence of PFF congress members, leading to his eventual resignation. His tenure had been marked by challenges, including administrative disputes and difficulties in finalizing PFF elections.

Adding to the crisis, FIFA had already suspended the PFF Congress two days prior, citing their failure to amend the federation’s constitution as per FIFA’s directives.

The suspension further complicated Pakistan football’s governance, putting the country’s footballing future in uncertainty.

FIFA is expected to announce a new chairman for the PFF Normalization Committee soon, aiming to restore stability and ensure a smooth electoral process.
