Private sector investment in Punjab has fallen to an alarming level, placing the province behind others in attracting private capital. 

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the declining investment trend has emerged as a new challenge for the Punjab government.

An analytical report compiled by the Provincial Strategy Team has been presented to the government, in which Punjab’s investment growth rate has dropped below the national average.

Data shared with the TV channel shows a significant weakening of investor confidence in the province. 

As per the findings, private sector investment in Punjab has declined from 10.2 percent to 7.2 percent.

The report further reveals that private investment has been consistently falling since 2018. 

In the fiscal year 2018–19, private sector investment stood at 10.2 percent, whereas in the fiscal year 2024–25, the investment rate dropped to 7.2 percent.
