Wrestlers split into two groups over a week before the start of Rustam-e-Pakistan Dangal to be held in Gujranwala on January 16 after some wrestlers raised eyebrows over the semi-final, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

A wrestler named Asif Mochi reached Gujranwala and challenged both the finalists, Gullu Pehlwan and Adnan Pehlwan.

He dared them to fight with him one by one, saying whosoever emerged victorious would be declared ‘Rustam-e-Pakistan’.

On the other hand, Riaz wrestler, the recipient of Sitara-e-Pakistan, appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take notice of the situation.

Rustam-e-Pak-o-Hind Shahid Babar wrestler said that competitions should be held today. “And we will accept the results,” he added.
