Local authorities on Tuesday imposed a curfew in South Waziristan due to security concerns, completely banning people’s movement and commercial activities in the district on Wednesday, July 9.
A notification issued by the office of the deputy commissioner, South Waziristan, District Upper, says, “Whereas, it has been intimated by the Headquarter FC KP (South), JSC Wana dated 08.07.2025 that in wake of prevailing law & order in the area and in the interest of public safety, it is imperative to impose complete ban/restriction on movement and opening of markets and bazaars within the jurisdiction of all sub-divisions and Tehsils of South Waziristan District Upper to prevent any untoward incident and to ensure smooth public administration."
