A high-level Turkish delegation led by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Defence Minister Yasir Golkar is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan tonight, diplomatic sources confirmed.
The delegation includes senior figures from both Turkey’s defence and diplomatic spheres, with Yasir Golkar, a former head of the Turkish Armed Forces, accompanying the foreign minister in what is being viewed as a significant visit amidst evolving regional dynamics.
According to sources, the Turkish leadership will hold formal talks with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar at the Foreign Office tomorrow, followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Diplomatic insiders say this visit comes at a time of growing strategic cooperation between Islamabad and Ankara, especially in light of recent regional tensions.
“India has already voiced concern over Turkey’s support for Pakistan during the May war,” a source noted, hinting at New Delhi’s unease over strengthening Pak-Turkey defence ties.
The visit is expected to focus on bilateral defence collaboration, regional security, and broader geopolitical coordination between the two countries.
