Islamabad court orders blocking 27 YouTube channels

A local court in Islamabad has ordered the blocking of 27 famous YouTube channels after satisfying with “evidence” presented to it regarding airing anti-State contents, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court issued the order on Tuesday on the request of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) which was heard by Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah.

In its two-page order, the court remarked that it was satisfied with the evidence submitted by the FIA against these channels.

Allowing the Agency to proceed against these channels as per law, the court order the YouTube officer incharge to block the 27 channels.

Among other the channels were belonged to journalist Matiullah Jan, Assad Toor and Siddique Jan.

The court order further said the FIA had launched an inquiry against these channels on June 2 for airing anti-State material.
