In a shocking revelation, authorities have discovered a serious violation of the Punjab Wildlife Act, where a fully-grown lion has been recovered from a private residence in the suburban area of Bewal, Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Sources suggested that Punjab Wildlife Department has lodged a formal case against the owner and caretaker of the lion at the Gujjar Khan Police Station.
The details of the case indicate that the owner, who was illegally housing a dangerous wild lion at his residence without any formal permit, has been identified as Malik Tasadduq, and is said to be living abroad.
Meanwhile, the animal was care for by a domestic employee named Rukhsar.
As per the FIR, neither the owner not the caretaker held any legal authorization or valid license which is required to keep an animal this wild.
Authorities confirm that this act happens to be a violation of the Punjab Wildlife Act, which prohibits keeping protected and dangerous animals without authorization.
