Islamabad is expected to receive rain accompanied by thunderstorms during the day and evening, bringing relief from the recent spell of hot and humid weather, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
Cool winds have eased muggy conditions in the federal capital, offering welcome relief to residents affected by the summer heat. The maximum temperature is forecast to reach 37°C, while winds are expected to blow at speeds of between 20 and 21 kilometres per hour, contributing to a slight drop in temperatures.
In Karachi, hot and dry weather is expected to persist throughout the day. The city recorded a morning temperature of 31°C, with the mercury likely to rise to 37°C later in the day.
Air quality in Karachi remains unhealthy, with the concentration of airborne particulate matter recorded at around 100 particulate metres, according to the report.
Lahore is also forecast to receive rain, while cloudy skies are expected to prevail across the city. The maximum temperature is likely to reach 36°C.
Weather officials said the cool winds have already brought some relief from the oppressive heat, and the expected rainfall is likely to improve conditions further.
