The Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) posted a profit of Rs1.05 billion during the last two years, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to details, two years before MEPCO was facing a loss of Rs35 billion. Federal Minister for Power Awais Ahmad Khan’s effective policies marginable turn-around was witnessed.
A spokesman of Power Division said that MEPCO’s turnaround was Rs37 billion during the last two years, and the line losses were decreased from 15.2 percent to 11.09 percent.
The percentage of recovery was reached to 100.8 percent from 98.6 percent.
The spokesman further added that effective policies and the latest technology played a vital role in turning the organization into a profitable. MEPCO's success is an example of a reform model.
An independent decision-making, transparency, and effective monitoring system is also installed in other power distribution companies.
