A horrifying act of domestic violence shattered the spirit of Eid-ul-Azha in Ghauspur village, where a man brutally severed his wife's arm and repeatedly attacked her legs with a meat cleaver during a heated argument, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Sunday.
The victim, Fawzia Bibi, is a mother of six children — four married and two unmarried. According to police sources, her husband, Muhammad Ashraf Maachi, allegedly flew into a violent rage during a domestic dispute and attacked her in front of their family on the festive day.
Eyewitnesses reported that Ashraf, assisted by two unidentified accomplices, used a sharp meat cleaver meant for sacrificial animals to chop off Fawzia’s arm and inflicted multiple injuries on her legs. The assailant fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Fawzia was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where she is currently receiving treatment.
A case of attempted murder has been registered at the Sadar Depalpur Police Station, based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Javed. Law enforcement officials say a manhunt is underway to apprehend the accused and his alleged accomplices.
