A robbery attempt turned into a deadly confrontation as Sukkur police engaged in a fierce gunfight with two armed bandits in the jurisdiction of Abad Police Station, resulting in the death of one suspect while the other fled injured, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sukkur, Azhar Khan Mughal, the robbers—residents of Shikarpur—were in the middle of looting local citizens when police reached the scene.
As officers attempted to intervene, the suspects opened fire. The police responded swiftly, killing one of the bandits on the spot.
His accomplice, despite being wounded, managed to escape under the cover of chaos. A search operation has been launched in Sukkur to apprehend the fugitive.
The area remains on high alert as police continue the investigation and comb surrounding neighbourhoods for leads.
