A massive fire broke out in a private factory in Karachi’s Landhi Export Processing Zone, which quickly spread to an adjacent factory due to strong winds, creating a dangerous situation that prompted a third-degree fire emergency response.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the inferno, which began in the early hours, overwhelmed initial efforts to contain it as gusty winds intensified the flames.
The Karachi Fire Brigade has deployed eleven vehicles, including snorkels and water bowsers, in an effort to douse the fire and prevent further spread.
Fire department officials have confirmed the blaze has reached third-degree status, signalling a severe emergency requiring extensive resources.
The situation remains critical as firefighters continue to battle the flames with full force.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, and no casualties have been confirmed yet.
