National as well as international airlines have expressed their reservations over the offloading of cargo from their flights which has caused losses of millions of rupees to them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
It has come to light that only in the last two days, cargo has been offloaded from 12 flights.
In a letter to the Lahore Airport manager, Airline Operating Committee Chairman Idrees Ahmad has said that there is an unnecessary security check at the apron since March 6. “Cargo was offloaded from nine flights on March 6 due to delay in the cargo shipment,” he has said, adding that not only caused financial losses to the airlines but also dented the clients’ confidence in them.
“Unnecessary delay also tarnished the image of the Pakistani airports.”
Giving details, he has said that 20,141 kilograms of cargo was offloaded from Thai Airways flight, TG-246; 2,280 kilograms from Flynas’s flight, XY-318; 9,210 kilograms from Emirates flight, EK-623; 8,146 kilograms from Saudia Airlines flight, SV-727; 23,650 kilograms from Emirates flight EK-625; 13, 420 kilograms from PIA’s flight, PK-247; 1,420 kilograms from Fly Jinnah’s 9-P-580; 2,790 kilograms from Fly Jinnah’s 9-P-502, and 7, 647 kilograms from Turkish Air’s TK-715.
