The milestone was achieved when Indian batter Sanju Samson smashed three consecutive sixes off the bowling of Rachin Ravindra during the 14th over of the high-profile final.
With those powerful strikes, India’s tally of sixes in the tournament crossed the historic 100-mark, setting a new benchmark in World Cup cricket.
The team’s total number of sixes in the ongoing edition has now reached 102.
