The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, held a telephone conversation with Donald Trump, President of the United States, during which the two leaders discussed the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East.
According to officials, the discussion focused on the ongoing tensions across the region and their potential implications for international security and stability.
During the call, the Qatari emir expressed concern over Iranian attacks targeting Qatar and other countries in the region. Sheikh Tamim said the escalating tensions posed a serious threat to international peace and security.
He warned that the continuing crisis could have dangerous consequences for regional and global stability if it was not contained in time.
The emir emphasised the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts to bring the crisis under control and ultimately end the conflict.
Sheikh Tamim also stated that Qatar would not hesitate to defend its sovereignty, security and national interests in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law.
