Iran’s Foreign Minister (FM) Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday that Saudi Arabia had assured Iran that it would not allow its soil to be used against it, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He said he was in constant touch with his Saudi counterpart.
He further said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had dragged the USA into his war. “So far, America has spent $100 billion on the war during the last one week,” he said.
Araghchi warned that if the USA wanted to prolong the war, Iran, too, was prepared for a prolonged war.
Declaring the US strikes on a water filtration plant a ‘crime’, Iran’s FM said that the water supply to 30 villages was disrupted as a result of the bombing.
He warned the USA of severe consequences for attacking Iranian infrastructure.
On the other hand, for the first time since the beginning of a conflict in the Gulf, Saudi Arabia has threatened Iran with a counter-attack in the event of any further attack on its installations from the Iranian soil.
According to a report by an international news agency, Saudi Arabia has made it clear to Iran that it wants a solution to the current conflict between Tehran and Washington through diplomatic means; however, if attacks continue from the Iranian side, Riyadh will retaliate.
On the other hand, the news agency has said that so far none of the Gulf countries has allowed the USA to use its airspace to carry out attacks on Iran.
However, if the attacks continue, Saudi Arabia can allow the USA to use its airbases in the country to launch attacks on Iran.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Saturday discussed joint measures to stop drone and missile attacks by Iran amid the ongoing regional war.
The ISPR said Chief of Defense Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Saudi Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir travelled to Riyadh on Friday to reassure the Saudi leadership of Pakistan's support during the volatile situation.
During the meeting between the field marshal and the Saudi defence minister, according to the ISPR, the two dignitaries discussed "the gravity of the security situation accruing from Iranian drone and missile attacks on the kingdom and joint measures needed to halt them within the framework of the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement".
