Global oil prices continued to rise sharply amid escalating tensions linked to the conflict involving Iran and the United States, raising concerns about potential disruptions to energy supplies from the Middle East, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the report, in international markets, West Texas Intermediate crude oil (WTI) climbed significantly, with prices increasing by 12.21 per cent.
The benchmark US crude was reported to be trading at $90.90 per barrel during the latest session.
Meanwhile, Brent crude oil, the global benchmark, was also trading higher, reaching $92.69 per barrel as investors reacted to the heightened geopolitical risks in the region.
Market analysts said the continued rise in prices reflected growing concerns that the ongoing conflict could affect oil production and shipping routes in the Middle East, particularly around key energy corridors.
The surge in crude prices has raised fears of further volatility in global energy markets if tensions continue to escalate.
