In a fiery and emotionally charged address to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq Thursday called for unity among all Pakistanis, stating that Kashmiris are ready to make any sacrifice to ensure a strong, stable Pakistan.
"This is the time to forget all differences and unite," he declared, framing the current regional crisis as a moment of collective resolve and national solidarity.
In his speech, PM Haq asserted that Kashmiris stand with the Pakistan Armed Forces like a ‘lead wall’, underscoring unwavering support for the military amid heightened tensions with India. He also lauded Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, referencing an article by The New York Times that described him as an "iron man," calling him a symbol of national pride.
“The people of Kashmir will live for Pakistan and die for the sanctity of Pakistan,” Haq proclaimed, warning that any Indian aggression, including attacks on dams or border violations, would be met with a fierce and unrelenting response.
He confirmed that the AJK government has allocated its entire budget under a ‘state of war’ posture, transferring funds to all deputy commissioners for assisting martyrs' families and victims along the Line of Control (LoC). Emergency housing is also being arranged for civilians affected by cross-border shelling.
Addressing threats circulated from Indian-sponsored disinformation campaigns, which claimed the Assembly building would be targeted, Haq said, “We consulted and decided unanimously — this session will go on. There is no front line anymore, the entire nation is now in the crosshairs.”
The prime minister didn’t hold back in his remarks on Indian leadership, calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi "the butcher of Gujarat" and "a murderer of humanity," demanding he be brought to justice. “Modi should be hanged,” he said flatly.
Echoing a quote attributed to General Asim Munir, Haq stated: “Three wars have been fought for Kashmir — and seven more will be fought if needed.”
He reaffirmed faith in Allah Almighty, the Pakistan Army, and its leadership, urging the nation to be mentally and intellectually prepared for any eventuality.
