A Mississippi man has been charged with felony stalking and vandalism after allegedly crashing his car into the gates of Jennifer Aniston’s Bel Air mansion while she was home, authorities confirmed Thursday.
Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, of New Albany, Mississippi, is accused of harassing the Friends star with unwanted voicemails, emails, and social media messages since March 2023. The situation escalated on Monday when Carwyle allegedly drove his grey Chrysler PT Cruiser into the gated entrance of Aniston’s home, causing what prosecutors described as "major damage."
Aniston, 56, was inside the residence during the incident, but no injuries have been reported.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Carwyle was stopped by a security guard on the driveway before officers arrived and arrested him. He now faces charges of felony stalking, felony vandalism, and an aggravating circumstance involving the threat of great bodily harm.
Carwyle is set to appear in court on Thursday. If convicted, he could face up to three years in prison.
Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman condemned the incident in a statement:
“Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions. My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorise others.”
Aniston has not issued a public statement. This is not her first stalking incident—she previously obtained a restraining order in 2010 against a man who believed he was in a relationship with her.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive behind Carwyle's alleged actions.
