A family staged a protest outside a private hospital in Rawalpindi after alleging that medical negligence during a delivery operation (C-section) caused the death of a newborn baby.
The 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday that the infant died during a surgical delivery procedure at a private hospital.
Relatives claimed that doctors struck the baby’s head with surgical scissors during the operation, resulting in fatal injuries.
The parents accused the hospital administration and medical staff of negligence and said the newborn could not survive the injury sustained during the procedure.
Relatives alleged that hospital staff behaved in an inappropriate manner following the incident and issued threats instead of providing assistance and support to the grieving family.
According to the family members, hospital employees told them to “take the body and leave the premises of the hospital”.
After the incident, relatives gathered outside the hospital and held a protest demonstration, chanting slogans and demanding action against those responsible.
No official statement from the hospital administration had been released at the time of reporting.
