Former caretaker commerce minister Gohar Ejaz met Saudi Prince Mansoor bin Mohammed on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Business Conference.

Speaking on the occasion, Prince Mansoor bin Mohammed said that foundation of Pak-Saudi trade relations was laid during the reign of Gohar Ejaz. A Pakistani business delegation led by Gohar Ejaz visited Saudi Arabia 18 months ago and Gohar Ijaz proposed the formation of the Pak-Saudi Business Council, he added. “I have been made the chairman of the Saudi Business Council,” he added.

Pakistan has appointed Fawad Ahmed Mukhtar as chairman of the Business Council and today the Saudi delegation has arrived in Pakistan to take this series forward, Mansoor bin Mohammed said.

Gohar Ejaz said a delegation of Saudi investors led by Prince Mansoor bin Mohammed has arrived in Pakistan and business relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are being strengthened. He said there were very deep relations between the governments of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

He said that contacts between the people of both countries were strong and in the current situation it was important to promote trade and investment relations with Saudi Arabia. He said that a delegation of Saudi investors was showing interest in investing in Pakistan.

He said the Saudi delegation can make a big investment in the corporate farming sector in Pakistan as Saudi Arabia can invest in the oil and gas sector. The Saudi delegation has been invited to invest in the agriculture, real estate, and mining sectors, he added.

He said the Saudi delegation is being made to meet businessmen from Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. Business-to-business meetings are being held with the Saudi delegation, he concluded.
