A high-ranking Saudi delegation arrived in Pakistan this week to formalise a series of business and investment agreements with local firms, according to confirmations from Foreign Office and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The Saudi delegation's visit follows last month’s landmark defence agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The delegation is set to sign multiple agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) at both the government-to-government (G2G) and business-to-business (B2B) levels.
A similar visit in October 2024, involving representatives from Saudi Arabia’s agriculture, mining, tourism, industry, and manpower sectors, resulted in 34 MoUs worth $2.8 billion. The Foreign Office stated that the delegation is led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council.
“During their stay, His Highness and the delegation will meet with Pakistani leadership and engage with senior government officials, chambers of commerce, and key business groups to explore opportunities for enhanced trade and investment cooperation,” the statement said.
It further noted that the visit reflects the deep, brotherly ties between the two countries and a shared commitment to expanding economic partnerships under the Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council framework. Discussions are expected to center on trade and investment facilitation, aligned with Pakistan’s economic growth agenda.
The SIFC, a hybrid civil-military body established two years ago to fast-track decisions in strategic sectors, also highlighted the importance of the visit. “This reflects the mutual resolve of both nations to boost economic collaboration under Saudi Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s investment-led growth strategy,” the council stated.
As part of the itinerary, the Saudi delegation will also visit Karachi and Lahore for B2B engagements and to explore joint ventures in priority sectors.
