Aly Goni is once again embroiled in controversies surrounding his interfaith relationship with Jasmin Bhasin.
He has been targeted lately for his religion after Jasmin's video in an Abaya from the mosque popped up on social media. People have accused him of imposing his religious practices on Jasmin. Reacting to the same, Aly clarified that it was not the case exactly.
Jasmin and Aly Goni's sister visited Abu Dhabi Mosque in Dubai in 2023, where they were asked by the authorities to wear an abaya before entering the mosque.
The video of Jasmin from the mosque resurfaced online, prompting Aly to address the issue.
He explained: “When Jasmin and my sister went there, they were not allowed to enter. So, they bought an abaya from nearby, wore it, and then entered. Now people have turned this into a story that I took Jasmin to Madina. So just see, if I don’t say ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya,’ people start saying all kinds of things.”
The male actor has also been trolled for not chanting "Ganpati Bappa Morya" during a Ganesh Chaturthi celebration.
