Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq congratulated the national cricket team on their victory over Afghanistan in the final of the T20 tri-nation series in Sharjah.
In his message, PCB Chairman lauded the Green Shirts for showcasing resilience and teamwork despite posting a low total in the final.
He paid special tribute to all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz, whose hat-trick and aggressive batting turned the match in Pakistan’s favor.
“Nawaz’s bowling completely shifted the momentum of the game,” Naqvi said, adding that the players’ collective effort helped Pakistan outclass Afghanistan in the title clash.
He extended his congratulations to head coach Mike Hesson, captain Salman Agha, and the entire squad, remarking that the victory has boosted the team’s morale ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup. “The nation rightfully expects this level of performance, and I am hopeful the team will deliver the same in the Asia Cup,” Naqvi emphasized.
National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also conveyed his warm wishes to the cricketers, praising their determination and skill.
He praised Nawaz and the bowling unit for their stellar performance, which dismantled Afghanistan’s batting lineup.

Both leaders expressed optimism that Pakistan’s victory in Sharjah would serve as strong momentum for future international tournaments.
