Govt’s total debt eases by 0.30 percent in July 2026

The federal government's total debt showed an increase of 6.60 percent on a yearly (YoY) basis and decreased by 0.30 percent on a monthly basis (MoM) in July 2026, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Pakistan’s total debt reached Rs83,383 billion till July 2026.

The State Bank of Pakistan report further revealed that a decrease of Rs259 billion was recorded in total debt during July 2026.

The SBP report stated that an increase of Rs5145 billion was recorded in Pakistan’s total debt during one year.

During July 2026, the federal government's local debt reached Rs59,274 billion. In the month of July 2026, a decrease of Rs166 billion was recorded in the government’s debt.

Pakistan recorded an increase of Rs4286 billion in its local debt during one year, and in July 2026 Pakistan external debt reached Rs24,109 billion.
