More than 160,000 students have applied for intermediate admissions in government colleges across Punjab through the Higher Education Department’s Online College Admission System.
Female students submitted more than 109,000 applications, accounting for 68% of the total, while male students submitted about 51,000 applications, or 32%.
FA emerged as the most popular programme with 57,000 applications, followed by ICS with 54,000 applications.
FSc Pre-Medical ranked third with 28,000 applications.
Female students dominated all three programmes. They accounted for 81% of Pre-Medical applicants, 74% of FA applicants and 61% of ICS applicants.
In technical programmes, female students made up 65% of applicants for FAIT.
Male students, meanwhile, had a higher share of applications in DIT and DCom.
