Government teaching hospitals across Punjab urgently need 329 additional water hydrants and 4,600 more emergency fire extinguisher cylinders, according to details of their fire safety arrangements.
The hospitals currently have 450 water hydrants installed, of which 395 are functional.
Authorities found 55 hydrants inactive.
The teaching hospitals also have 7,957 fire extinguisher cylinders available for emergency use.
The figures show a substantial shortfall in fire safety equipment across the province's government teaching hospitals.
