Sihala police arrested members of an organised gang allegedly stealing diesel from an oil pipeline through an underground tunnel.
Police said the suspects had installed an illegal connection in the pipeline running from Morgah, Rawalpindi, to the Sihala Depot.
The gang allegedly used the underground tunnel to extract diesel from the pipeline.
Sihala police carried out a raid and arrested the suspects on the spot.
Police recovered a filling pipe, a vehicle, drums and stolen diesel from the scene.
Authorities registered a case against the suspects and launched further investigation.
Police said teams were conducting raids to arrest other people allegedly linked to the diesel theft network.
