Authorities have launched extensive search and combing operations across multiple districts of Islamabad and the Rawalpindi division, significantly enhancing security measures in view of the upcoming US-Iran peace talks in the federal capital.
According to official sources, joint operations involving police, Rangers, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and intelligence agencies are underway in several areas of the Islamabad Capital Territory.
These include Shammas Colony, Mehrabadi, Khanna, Bara Kahu and the adjoining localities of Bari Imam, where special teams have been deployed to carry out intelligence-based screening and verification of residents.
Authorities said house-to-house checks, monitoring of residential data, and scrutiny of movement in these areas have been intensified, with particular focus on strengthening surveillance at entry and exit points.
In the Rawalpindi Division, similar operations are being conducted across a wide range of locations, including Sadiqabad, Dhok Kala Khan, Kohati Bazaar, Asghar Mall Road and the Railway Carriage Factory area. Security presence has been visibly increased around sensitive installations, with continuous monitoring of movement and strict checking protocols in place.
Search and verification activities are also ongoing in Kallar Syedan and its surrounding areas, where authorities are carrying out detailed residential data checks as part of intelligence-led operations.
Meanwhile, phase-wise combing operations have been initiated in Murree, Jhelum, Chakwal and Attock. Law enforcement agencies, including Elite forces and CTD units, are jointly conducting coordinated ground operations aimed at maintaining strict security control at the local level.
Officials emphasized that surveillance has been tightened at key transit points, residential settlements and other sensitive locations across both regions. Intelligence-based checks, verification of residential records and monitoring of movement are being carried out systematically to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Authorities maintained that these measures are being implemented in phases to ensure public safety and uphold law and order, particularly in the context of high-level diplomatic engagements. Citizens have been urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies during the operations.
The large-scale, coordinated effort reflects heightened vigilance by the state to maintain security and ensure a safe environment amid significant international developments.
