Alicia Silverstone has given fans a long-awaited update on the upcoming Clueless TV reboot.
Speaking on the latest episode of Today, the 48-year-old actress, who famously played Cher Horowitz in the 1995 cult classic, revealed that the project is still in its early development phase.
When asked for details, Alicia kept things mysterious, admitting, “Not much,” before adding, “I’m really excited about it.”
Sharing her vision for the revival, she said, “I think we’re going to try really hard. The goal is to make it honour what everyone loves about Clueless and Cher. We want to honour that, but also bring something fresh and new to it. I’m confident that we’ll be able to do that, but we’re in baby stages right now.”
Back in April, Alicia officially announced that she would be reprising her iconic role in the reboot series.
Clueless, loosely inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma, premiered in cinemas in 1995 and quickly became a pop culture phenomenon.
Alongside Silverstone, the film starred Paul Rudd, Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, Brittany Murphy, and Dan Hedaya.
The reboot news has already sparked nostalgia among fans, with many eager to see how the beloved 90s teen comedy will be reimagined for a new generation.
