The procedure for receiving Hajj 2027 applications and pilgrimage expenses has been finalised, with applications under the government scheme set to open in the third week of August, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Hajj expenses will be collected through multiple digital payment options, including OneLink, PSID, credit cards and online challans.
Overseas Pakistanis will also be able to submit their applications and pay dues through the new digital system.
Under the government scheme, Hajj expenses will be collected in two instalments.
Pilgrims will have to pay 50 per cent of the amount in the first instalment, with the remaining amount to be paid in the second instalment.
Only pilgrims who are already registered will be eligible to submit applications and pay Hajj dues under the government scheme.
A single designated private bank will collect applications and payments from overseas Pakistanis.
Pilgrims opting for the private Hajj scheme will also be able to pay their expenses through OneLink, PSID or credit cards.
Sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs said Pakistan’s total Hajj quota for 2027 has been fixed at 179,210 pilgrims.
Of this, 107,526 seats, or 60 per cent, have been allocated to the government scheme, while 71,684 seats, or 40 per cent, have been allocated to private Hajj operators.
The ministry said the new digital system would make the submission of Hajj applications and payment of dues easier, faster and more secure.
