An important meeting of the dispute committees of the coalition partners Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) took place at Punjab House in Islamabad on Monday.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Rana Sanaullah Khan and Ameer Muqam represented the PML-N at the meeting, while Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and Sherry Rehman represented the PPP.
According to sources, the PPP delegation shared their grievances with the PML-N leaders at the meeting. PPP leaders attending the meeting reminded the PML-N representatives that they make promises, but they don’t fulfil those promises. They said that PML-N accepts all terms and conditions when it is in difficult situation, but forgets everything as soon as it comes out of that difficult period.
PPP leaders said that PML-N did not act upon the recommendations of the two committees in Punjab.
Responding to PPP leaders’ complaints, PML-N leaders assured them that they would take these to the highest level in the party and address them at the earliest.
The two sides agreed to meet once again to sort out the differences.
