Pakistan’s beloved veteran actress Bushra Ansari has issued a strong public warning after discovering multiple fake social media accounts using her name to solicit donations.
In a video posted to her verified Instagram, the star expressed anger and frustration over scammers exploiting her identity while urging followers to report these fraudulent profiles immediately.
In the video message, Bushra sounded both firm and disappointed as she clarified, “My friends have been sharing posts with my name asking them for donations.”
She went on to stress that she has never used any platform to ask for money, nor has she ever contacted anyone to collect funds on her behalf. “I never ask for help on somebody’s behalf, I always see to it myself because I trust people are always donating their share for what means most to them,” she said.
Bushra reiterated that she has never created any fundraising groups, charity channels, or donation platforms, adding in frustration: “Please report these fake IDs. May these fools be damned.”
Her caption echoed the same sentiment: “Please report these culprits!! They are fake and misguiding you all!!”
This alarming incident comes only months after a similar digital fraud targeted Bushra’s sister, Asma Abbas, in August 2025.
Asma’s WhatsApp account was hacked, and messages were sent from her number requesting one million rupees from a man named Ibrahim. The issue surfaced when Bushra herself shared a screenshot of the scam on Instagram, urging people not to fall for such deception.
Asma later released her own video detailing how she fell victim. She explained that she had received a call claiming to be about the delivery of a parcel, a call she believed to be genuine since her daughter Zara had recently sent her items.
The scammers asked her to share a verification code sent to her WhatsApp, and the moment she did, her account was hijacked. From there, the hackers attempted to trick her contacts into giving them money.
Asma apologized to friends for the inconvenience and warned the public to stay vigilant, emphasizing that such fraud is becoming increasingly common in Pakistan.
