The Punjab Home Department has started registration of kite, string makers and sellers before Basant festival, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The procedure for registration of kite associations has also been decided.
Form-A has been made mandatory for making, selling and buying kites and strings.
Registered persons will be issued an official certificate along with Form-B.
There will be Form C and Form D for registration of kite flying associations.
The size, material and quality of string and kite will be determined as per Schedule-I.
The manufacture and sale of substandard or chemical strings will be completely prohibited.
Registered associations will assist in Basant arrangements under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner.
In this regard warning of cancellation of registration and legal action has been issued in case of violation.
The first phase of the procedure for safe and orderly Basant has been completed.
