Police rescue minor girl sold by father for adultery

Dera Ghazi Khan police Sunday foiled a human trafficking attempt and recovered a 14-year-old girl who had been sold for Rs 600,000 by her father for adultery, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

According to the police spokesperson, the operation was launched after receiving a tip-off about the illegal sale of the minor. 

A team from the Gaddai Police Station, Dera Ghazi Khan immediately raided a location in Basti Jandani, where they found and rescued the girl, identified as Tahmina Bibi.

During investigations, it was revealed that the victim had been sold by her father and uncle under the suspicion of immoral behavior. 

The buyers had forcibly detained the girl, preventing her from escaping.

Following the rescue, a case was registered against the accused under the human trafficking act of 2018 and other relevant laws. 

The FIR named four suspects including Ghulam Fareed, Tariq, Arshad, and Ramzan. 

Further investigations are underway to ensure justice for the victim.
