The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a reduction in electricity prices across the country as part of monthly fuel cost adjustments, providing much-needed relief to consumers amid rising inflation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
According to separate notifications issued by NEPRA, the electricity tariff for K-Electric consumers has been reduced by Rs 4.3 per unit under the fuel cost adjustment for April 2025.
Meanwhile, consumers in the rest of the country will see a reduction of 50 paisa per unit in their May 2025 electricity bills.
The notifications confirm that this relief will be reflected in the bills issued during July. K-Electric had originally requested a reduction of Rs 4.69 per unit in its April adjustment, while the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had proposed a nominal increase of 10 paisa per unit for the rest of the country for May.
