A 22-year-old youth fell into a rain drain while crossing a bridge in the limits of Koral police station in Islamabad on Wednesday along with his motorcycle, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Mohsin was crossing the bridge over Sharifabad drain when he lost control of the motorcycle due to the water flow and fell into the drain.
Search for the youth was underway till the filing of this news.
Heavy rain lashed the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Tuesday and also on Wednesday morning, creating a slushy mess in the low-lying areas.
The Meteorological Department recorded 24mm of rain at Zero Point and 1mm at Saidpur in Islamabad, and 16mm at Chaklala, 2mm at Katcheri, 1mm at Pirwadhai and 38mm at Shamsabad in Rawalpindi yesterday.
It forecast more rain and cool winds sweeping the northern parts of the country, including the Potohar region, during the next 24 hours.
According to a Met official, monsoon currents are penetrating most parts of the country. A westerly wave is also affecting the upper and central parts of the country.
