In a horrifying case of domestic violence, which took place in Karachi, a woman named Ayesha Noor has tragically lost her life after allegedly being forced to consume acid by her husband, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Police reports suggested that Ayesha Noor was brought to Jinnah hospital in a severely critical condition last Thursday.
Despite emergency treatment and best efforts of the hospital’s medical staff, she could not survive and breathed her last on Wednesday.
Initial investigations confirmed that she was given acid, which ultimately led to her tragic death.
A murder case, under the relevant legal provisions, has been registered by the police against the deceased’s husband Ayub, and brother-in-law, Rafiq, following a complaint lodged by her father, Ali Akbar in Bilal Colony of Korangi.
The victim’s grieving father, while sharing disturbing details during investigation, claimed that her daughter had been married to Ayub from the past seven years, and the relationship was marked by frequent quarrelling over Ayub’s extramarital affairs.
He further added that Ayesha, who was a mother to 2 daughters, would often return to her family home following disputes between her and Ayub.
“On the 4th of July”, he stated, “we were informed that she has been hospitalized and is in a critical condition, and she eventually passed away. My daughter was subjected to brutal physical assault and was forced to injest acid, which is why she passed away.”
Initial forensic investigations, as per the police officials, have confirmed acid ingestion.
